(WEATHERFORD, TX) – The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s office has ruled that the August death of a pregnant Weatherford woman was a homicide.

The Weatherford Democrat reports 29 year old Shannon Guthrie and her unborn child died as a result of a gunshot wound to the head.  Guthrie was taken to John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth after a shooting on August 5th, at a home on Dill Road north of Weatherford.  She and the baby were both pronounced dead at the hospital.

According to the Parker County Sheriff’s Office, a man at the home said there was an argument that escalated into a struggle over the gun and it went off.  The case is still under investigation.
