(Benbrook, TX)  —  December 23, 1974, three Fort Worth girls disappeared while shopping at Seminary South Shopping Center.

Over the weekend divers pulled one of two cars from Benbrook Lake, investigators believe may be connected to the 44 year old case.  According to the Fort Worth Star Telegram, about 100 people sat on the shore watching, as a Chevy Corvair, badly damaged from years of being submerged was pulled from the water.  Crews were not able to get the second car out of the lake and will try again later.

Volunteers still searching for evidence in the girls’ disappearance believe one of the cars in the water belongs to a person of interest in the case, that lived within five miles of Benbrook Lake at the time.
