(CLEBURNE, TX) – It looks like the Cleburne Railroaders are looking for a new owner.
The Cleburne Times Review is reporting that the sale of the team appears imminent and that sponsors have already been notified. In 2015, Cleburne voters approved a $25 million bond package to fund construction of team’s ballpark, The Depot. The city of Cleburne owns the park, however, City officials sold the rights to the team to NelTex, an organization headed by Dallas Maverick’s General Manager Donnie Nelson, to operate the day-to-day management of the ballpark and the team. Cleburne Mayor Scott Cain thanked Nelson for getting the team started and says “We look forward to a smooth transition”.
No timetable for the sale has been given.
