(HOOD COUNTY, TX) – Hood County authorities have determined a man who shot and killed a Bravos River Acres man did it to protect his family.
According to the Sheriff’s Department, Michael Wayne Healy Jr. was causing a disturbance at a home on Cattle Drive Court in far south Hood County, when he tried to run over a family member. The victim told investigators he shot Healy in an effort to protect his family. Healy later died at the hospital.
The Texas Rangers are helping in the investigation; however, no charges have been filed in the case so far.
