(STEPHENVILLE, TX) – An Erath County Sheriff’s Deputy has been terminated after he was arrested and charged with sexual assault.

According to the Stephenville Empire Tribune, Deputy Dylan Metsgar was taken into custody Wednesday at the Sheriff’s Office.  The 24 year old Deputy is accused of having a sexual relationship with a 16-year-old high school student. Erath County Sheriff Matt Coates says Metsgar was suspended last week when the Texas Rangers began investigating the allegation, but has now been fired.  The Sheriff declined to comment further on the case.

Metsgar was released from the Erath County Jail after posting a $30,000 bond.  Metsgar had been with the department for three years.
