(FORT WORTH, TX) – The Federal government dealt a blow to the ongoing Panther Island project, which hopes to create a San Antonio River Walk type attraction by diverting the flow of the Trinity River.
The Army Corp of Engineers has apparently left the $1.1 billion dollar project out of their new budget. Congress approved the project back in 2016. Fort Worth Mayor Betsy Price, who was in Washington DC last week for an economic summit, told the Star Telegram that she had told members of the Trump administration that the project was critical for Fort Worth and they would love to secure the funding for it.
