(BURLESON, TX) – The University Interscholastic League has determined there will be no further sanctions for the Waco University High School football player who attacked a Burleson High School football player during a Sept. 13 game.
The Cleburne Times Review reports the UIL made its decision after investigating several videos of the event show the Waco player holding the Burleson player down on the ground while choking him. The Waco player was removed from the game and forced to sit out only the first half of the team’s next game. Burleson ISD filed a protest with the Waco school district.
A statement released by the UIL said because the 5-5A District Executive Committee accepted the previously issued penalty, they would too.
