(WEATHERFORD, TX) – Ahead of more rain and a third floodgate opening at Possum Kingdom Lake, new Parker County Judge Pat Deen issues local disaster declaration.

Deen said he feels the county is ready and that they are closely monitoring flood prone areas like Horseshoe Bend and other communities along the Brazos River.  Deen adds that Parker County is currently working with local emergency management teams, the Red Cross and the highway department in the event there is major flooding.

Releases from Lake Granbury will also be ramped up to continue to pass water flows downstream to Lake Whitney.
