(FORT WORTH, TX) – Heavy rains and overly saturated grounds have led to a stinky problem.
The sewers are overflowing in Fort Worth and many other cities across North Texas. The Fort Worth Water Department says diluted raw sewage water is coming out of two manholes on University Drive and about 30 other locations around the city. The problem they say is from all this rainwater seeping into the sewage lines through cracks in the pipes. Since the ground is so saturated, the overflow has no place to go except up and out of the manholes.
The water district warns that this does not affect drinking water and if do see what appears to be sewage overflow, stay away from it and report it to your city’s public works department.
