(FORT WORTH, TX) — After four days of deliberation, a Tarrant County jury found 42-year-old Danita Tutt guilty of the attempted murder of her then 13-year-old son Colby.
Prosecutors say Tutt withheld food and water from Colby in addition to subjecting him to needless surgeries and medical procedures over several years. CPS began investigating the Cleburne mom in 2016 after she removed her son from the care of Fort Worth doctors who had become suspicious that she was lying about her son’s medical conditions. Tutt was also found guilty on one count of injury to a child causing serious bodily injury.
She now faces punishment of anywhere from probation to life in prison.
