(Fort Worth, TX)  —  KaVontae Turpin is now off the TCU football team after a second assault charge against him came to light.

Coach Gary Patterson said Tuesday that Turpin is no longer on the team.  The coach announced Monday that Turpin, a receiver and returner, was suspended after Fort Worth police arrested him on Saturday night for reportedly assaulting his girlfriend.  Patterson has since learned that Turpin was also arrested for assault in March while visiting a girlfriend in New Mexico during spring break.
