(CLEBURNE, TX) – A proposed sale of the Cleburne Railroaders baseball team moves closer to reality after the City Council approves a new stadium lease agreement for The Depot.

The city owns the stadium, and the Railroaders’ team name, but according to the Cleburne Times Review, sold the team to a private entity in 2016.  The team is in the process of being sold to an investment group, Cleburne Baseball LLC.  The American Association of Professional Baseball recently approved the ownership change leaving the lease assignment as one of the final hurdles to clear.

The new lease runs through Dec. 31, 2027 and requires the new owners to spend a minimum of $25,000 per year on marketing the stadium.
