(WEATHERFORD, TX) – A former school resource officer in Springtown is headed to prison for indecency with a child.

A Parker County jury sentenced 41-year-old Franklin “Frank” Carroll to 12 years in prison and once released, he’ll have to register as a sex offender for the rest of his life.  Carroll was an officer with the Springtown Police Department, assigned to the Springtown High School campus as a school resource officer.  Prosecutors say while at SHS, Carroll befriended a 14-year-old girl, convinced her to stop by his office frequently and eventually began touching her inappropriately.

Other students testified at the trial that they had similar experiences with Carroll.
