(Dallas, TX) — The election is coming up next week, and both candidates for Texas governor are still on the campaign trail.

Governor Greg Abbott and Democratic challenger Lupe Valdez were in North Texas on Monday to get out the vote.  Abbott made a campaign appearance in Lewisville, and Valdez stopped in at several early voting locations around the area.  She also cast her early ballot in Dallas.  Democratic U.S. Senate challenger Beto O’Rourke is in North Texas today, with a planned rally at the Toyota Music Factory in Irving.

Monday’s Quinnipiac poll shows Abbott leading by 14 percentage points, 54 to 40 over Valdez.
