(HOUSTON, TX) —  Senator Ted Cruz is making a running joke out of a baseless claim that he’s the infamous killer known as Zodiac.

For the second year in a row, the Texas Republican sent out a “Happy Halloween” tweet that featured a coded letter from the killer.  When Cruz ran for president in 2016, a meme that accused him of being the Northern California serial killer went viral.  Cruz was born in 1970, so he couldn’t have been killing people in the 1960s and ’70s, when the murders took place.

The true identity of Zodiac remains unknown.
