(FORT WORTH, TX) – A kindergartener with special needs was accidentally left on a Fort Worth school bus for five hours, several of which he spent by himself.
The Star Telegram reports the incident happened Oct. 15th. The Fort Worth School District said an attendant and bus driver did not realize the 5-year-old child did not get off on the first stop of the day at 7 a.m., and instead remained on board until 2:45 p.m., when the driver came back for the afternoon route. The child was reunited with his parents and was physically unharmed.
The District says both the driver and the attendant voluntarily resigned, however Child Protective Services may be recommending charges.
