(Granbury, TX) – The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) has asked the city of Granbury to lower the speed limit on a portion of FM 167, the Temple Hall Highway).  The Hood County News reports the agency wants to lower the speed limit from 60 and 55 mph within the city limits to 45 mph based on a speed study.  Car crashes have taken place on that stretch of highway. The area is populated with homes, businesses and churches

TxDOT’s Fort Worth District sent an email to City Manager Chris Coffman stating “As soon as we receive the ordinance, our maintenance section will install the new speed limit signs.”

The Granbury City Council is expected to approve the measure.
