North Texas Firefighters respond to California wildfires

(Austin, TX) — Hundreds of Texas firefighters, and support personnel are setting out for California this morning to help fight the latest outbreak of wildfires.  

Gov. Greg Abbott announced on Sunday that 200 firefighters with 55 fire engines will be heading out from local fire departments statewide.  That includes about 30 Firefighters and equipment from four North Texas departments, who will leave this morning from a South Fort Worth fire station.  Teams from the Texas Forest Service at Texas A&M are also being deployed.

Abbott said Texas is sending personnel and equipment to California, along with prayers.
