(Fort Worth, TX) – The Fort Worth city council will vote tonight on whether to now charge an admission fee to get into the Botanical Gardens.
The proposed fee is $12 per adult, $6 for kids with other discounts available as well as annual memberships. Right now, basic entrance into the Botanical Gardens is free, but there is a charge to go into the Japanese garden. The gardens need about $15 million in renovations and the city says there is already a budget shortfall of about $1.2 million.
A task force proposed the entry fees to help make the needed repairs.
