(Austin, TX) — Hundreds of bills are already filed for the Texas Legislature to consider when it convenes in January.
Monday was the first day bills could be pre-filed for the 86th Legislature, and by noon, lawmakers had already filed more than 400 of them. Fort Worth Republican Matt Krause has floated a bill barring cities from requiring businesses to offer paid sick time to their employees.
The other bills cover a wide range of issues, from getting rid of daylight-saving time in Texas….to making the possession of less than an ounce of marijuana a civil offense.
