(Weatherford, TX) — Parker County has the first violent crime assistance dog in North Texas.

The dog is a female black lab named East.  The Parker County Attorney’s Office says East will be used to provide support and to help calm victims of crimes during investigations and when they have to testify at legal proceedings.  A Texas-based group called Service Dogs, Inc. is providing East to Parker County free of charge.

East will make her debut December 11th at the Tree of Angels ceremony in Weatherford.
