(Weatherford, TX) – New revelations in the investigation of who shot a Parker County Sheriff’s Deputy.

Sheriff Larry Fowler now says the deputy was shot in the foot by his own weapon.  Fowler says Deputy Jarrett Turner was investigating an illegal deer blind earlier this week when his backup weapon fired without any warning.  He also says it’s not an accidental discharge, but a weapons malfunction.  Authorities are still looking for the person who set up the illegal deer blind.

State troopers will look at the weapon to see what caused it to go off.
