(Fort Worth, TX) — Fort Worth Police Chief Joel Fitzgerald is in Baltimore, making his case for his new job.

Fitzgerald is Baltimore Mayor Catherine Pugh’s nominee for the city’s police commissioner.  He met privately on Monday with City Council members, who must approve his nomination.  Fitzgerald will remain as police chief of Fort Worth until he receives council approval.  The Baltimore council is expected to vote in January.
