(Bedford, TX) —  Animal control officers are investigating a dog attack in the city of Bedford.

On Sunday afternoon a German shepherd attacked a woman in her backyard near Highway 121 and Forest Ridge Drive.  Police say the shepherd belongs to the woman’s daughter.  It was fighting with the woman’s smaller dog when she intervened and was bitten on the arm.  Officers used a beanbag gun to stop the attack.  The woman was hospitalized and is expected to recover.
