Driver in deadly wreck returns to Erath County to face charges

(Stephenville, TX) – A Stephenville woman, charged with the deaths of two little girls is now back in Erath County, with bond set at $160,000.

According to the Stephenville Empire Tribune, Alyssa Litwin was brought back to the Erath County Jail Tuesday from Wichita Falls where she was arrested last Friday in connection with the deadly December 3rd accident that took the lives of 9-month-old Charli and 5-year-old Codie Sackett.  Their mother Carrie was seriously injured and is still hospitalized.   Litwin is charged with two counts of manslaughter, four counts of endangering a child, one count of aggravated assault and one count of tampering with evidence.  Investigators believe Litwin was on her cellphone when she rear-ended Sackett’s SUV on Hwy. 281 near Morgan Mill.

If convicted, she faces up to 20 years in prison.
