(Crowley, TX)  —  A Florida man is facing charges after being accused of conning a Tarrant County School District out of nearly two-million-dollars.

Donald Conkright is in jail in the Florida Keys, waiting to be extradited to North Texas.  He was arrested last week.  Investigators say Conkright emailed Crowley Independent School District officials in October claiming to be with a construction company that’s building an elementary school and career technology center in the district.  The message said the company’s banking information had changed and convinced the district to wire the money to Conkright’s bank account.

Crowley District officials discovered the scheme in late November.
