(Undated) — Local police are starting to focus on enforcement of the state’s Move Over/Slow Down law.
The 2003 law requires drivers in Texas to move over or slow down when emergency vehicles are stopped in or alongside the road with their emergency lights activated. That includes police cars, fire trucks, ambulances, Texas Department of Transportation vehicles, and wreckers.
Between January and October, state troopers issued more than 35-thousand tickets and warnings to drivers who violated the Move Over/Slow Down law.
