(Stephenville, TX) – A Dublin man is behind bars following an accident that left another man hospitalized early New Year’s Day.

According to the Stephenville Empire Tribune, 27-year-old Nicholas King has been charged with intoxication assault and is currently being held at the Erath County Jail. King is accused of being under the influence of alcohol when he ran over a man who’d was traveling with him.  The DPS says it happened on County Road 401, about a mile north of Lingleville around 3:30 a.m Tuesday.  King’s pickup had reportedly got stuck in the mud, his friend got out to push the truck, and that’s when King ran over his passenger severely injuring him.

The DPS say King drove the victim to the hospital in Stephenville.
