(Hood County, TX) — Two neighborhoods in Hood County are under a boil water notice.

People living in the Comanche Cove and Heritage Heights neighborhoods should boil all water used for drinking, cooking, and ice making for two minutes before using it.  This includes washing your hands or face and brushing your teeth.  A leak in a water main caused a drop in system pressure, and officials say harmful bacteria may have gotten into the water.

The notice affects about 500 homes.  Officials will let residents know when the water is safe to drink again.
