Two Dead in Wrong-Way Crash On I-30 In West Fort Worth

(Fort Worth, TX) — Two people are dead after a wrong-way crash on I-30 in west Fort Worth that shut down the freeway for hours.

It happened around 3:30 a.m.  Fort Worth Police say the wrong-way driver was first spotted going west in the eastbound lanes of 30 at Lancaster, before slamming head-on into another car near Loop 820.  Both drivers were killed.  Police say officers attempted to stop the wrong way driver by pulling up next to her with lights and sirens on and with spike strips, but she kept going.

The west freeway was shut down for nearly four hours for investigation and clean-up of the wreckage.
