(Fort Worth, TX) – Fort Worth Police Chief Joel Fitzgerald has reportedly withdrawn his name from the Baltimore Police Commissioner process.

The department has so far not revealed the reason behind Fitzgerald taking his hat out of the ring, but it comes on the heels of the NAACP Legal Defense Fund calling for the city of Baltimore to not hire him, because they believe he overstated accomplishments on his resume.  Last week, Fitzgerald was supposed to go to Baltimore for meetings, but cancelled the trip due to a family emergency.
