(Aledo, TX) – In a surprise move, the Aledo Athletic Director and head football coach will switch places.

The school district announced that former Aledo head coach and current Athletic Director Tim Buchanan will return to the sidelines while current coach Steve Wood will take over as the AD.  Pending board approval, the changes will take effect on January 28th.

As the Bearcats’ head coach from 1993-2014, Buchanan won five state titles and had a record of 227-53-3.  In his time as head coach, Wood led Aledo to three state championships.  Buchanan, nicknamed “the architect” said he decided to return to the sidelines because he realized how much he misses coaching.
