(Arlington, TX)  —  An Arlington Police officer who was shot during a traffic stop is improving.

An Arlington PD spokesman says the officer who was shot Friday night is in serious but stable condition and he might be able to go home in the next few days.  An officer pulled over a car at about 10 p.m. on West Randol Mill Road for a traffic violation.  The officer smelled pot and called for backup.  When the other officers arrived, a passenger identified as Treshun Miller took off running and fired at officers who chased him.  One officer was wounded in the pelvis.

Another officer shot Miller, who died at the hospital.
