(Arlington, TX) — An Arlington Police officer, shot in the line of duty last weekend, was released from the hospital Monday.

Arlington Police Chief Will Johnson says the officer “still faces significant challenges” on his road to recovery.  The unidentified officer was shot while assisting another officer during a traffic stop.  The man who shot the officer was killed by police.

Chief Johnson released pictures of the officer’s duty belt showing how the bullet went through the belt before entering his body in his pelvic region.
