North Richland Hills K-9 Shot And Wounded

(North Richland Hills, TX) — A suspect and police K-9 were injured in a shootout Monday night in North Richland Hills.

The shooting happened around 9 p.m. at the end of a police chase in a neighborhood at Trinidad and Bogota Drive.  The chase reportedly involved a suicidal person.  After the exchange of gunfire, a suspect was taken to a hospital and is currently in stable condition.  Koba, a K9 officer for North Richland Hills Police, was wounded in the crossfire and taken to a veterinarian for treatment.

This morning, NRH PD Tweeted that Koba had made it through surgery and is now recovering from his injuries.
