(Austin, TX) — Texas lawmakers are considering a bill to protect people who break into hot cars to rescue pets.

The bill will remove liability for property damage from people who act to save pets in locked cars on hot days.  The bill would require people to call police before breaking in and staying with the pet until police arrive.
