(New Orleans, LA) — A federal appeals court is overturning a lower court ruling that Texas could not remove Planned Parenthood as a Medicaid provider.
A three-judge panel of the Fifth U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals is sending the case back to U.S. District Court Judge Sam Sparks to reconsider. The case involves a video by a pro-life group that shows Planned Parenthood employees discussing using fetal tissue for research. Planned Parenthood officials denied the claims. Sparks called the footage “unauthenticated” in his 2017 ruling.
