(Fort Worth, TX) – A 13-year-old girl is ok after becoming the victim of a car jacking at a North Fort Worth convenience store overnight.
It happened about 3:15 this morning at a QuikTrip at I-35W and Basswood Blvd. Police say the girl’s mother had stopped for gas and ran in the store to pay while her daughter was sleeping in the backseat. She left the car running because it was cold outside. Meanwhile another car pulled up and a man jumped in the woman’s car and drove off, not realizing the teen was asleep in the back.
Police say the man wrecked the car a short time later and the girl woke up to see him running away. She wasn’t hurt and police are now looking for alleged the car thief.
