(Eagle Pass, TX) — A border town in Mexico near Texas is on high-alert as about two-thousand Central American migrants approach.
Police in Piedras Negras are in riot gear preparing for the migrants from Guatemala, Honduras and El Salvador. The town sits along the Rio Grande river across from Eagle Pass, Texas. The caravan is expected to apply for asylum through U.S. Customs and Border Protection.
The riot police are in place when some of the migrants will inevitably be told to turn back because they do not qualify for asylum.
