(Austin, TX) — Gov. Greg Abbott says he’d be interested in working to reinstate the annual football game between UT Austin and Texas A&M.
Abbott made the comment at the end of his State of the State Address on Tuesday. He said he’s willing to work with State Representative Lyle Larson, a San Antonio Republican who’s filed a bill that would bring back the rivalry game every November.
The Longhorns and the Aggies haven’t met on the football field since 2011, the year before A&M moved to the Southeastern Conference.
