(Houston, TX) — A tiger is on its way to a new home today after being rescued on Monday from a cage in an abandoned house in southeast Houston.
Police say an anonymous tipster found the tiger last week after going to the house on East Avenue J to smoke pot. After police obtained a warrant on Monday, animal control personnel tranquilized the tiger and removed it. The tiger is in temporary custody of the BARC animal shelter. The Houston Zoo has no room for it. The tiger will be moved to a permanent home at another facility today.
