(Decatur, TX) — Bond is set at $135,000 total for the Wise County couple accused of locking two children in a dog kennel.
Paige Harkings and Andrew Fabila, both 24, appeared in court yesterday on child endangerment charges. The pair were taken into custody Tuesday when sheriff’s deputies say the responded to a domestic call and found four kids 5 and under in a barn. A 5-year-old boy and 4 year old girl were locked in a 3×3 dog cage. Investigators say that despite there being plenty food in the house, it was all locked up and the children didn’t have access to the food. They were also covered in feces. All four children were checked out a Cook Children’s Hospital and are now in foster care.
Bond for Fabila is 60-thousand-dollars. It’s 75-thousand for Harkings, who is also accused of attacking Fabila. Fabila is the biological father of one of the children.
