(Dallas, TX)  —  Air travel schedules are getting back to normal at DFW Airport and Dallas Love Field after a ground stop delayed air traffic on Wednesday.

The DFW air traffic control center was evacuated after smoke was reported in the building.  The smoke may have come from a nearby construction area.  The ground stop lasted a little more than an hour, but that was enough to cause big problems for travelers.

Dallas based Southwest Airlines reported 35 canceled departures, and Fort Worth based American reported 28 diverted flights.  These changes led to widespread ripple effects.
