(Weatherford, TX) – The City of Weatherford says it has a plan to fix problems with the water supply.
During a Facebook Live post Tuesday, Weatherford Director of Communications Blake Rexroat said following a 2017 water treatment study the city has come up with a two-phase plan to fix the taste and odor issues associated with the water coming out of Lake Weatherford. Rexroat says the bad smell and taste is from what’s released by algae blooms after they die.
The $5 million water filtration project is scheduled to start by the end of this year and be completed by early 2021.
