(Austin, TX) — A proposal to allow customers to buy beer directly from Texas breweries is getting bipartisan support in the state legislature.
Democratic State Representative Eddie Rodriguez and Republican State Senator Dawn Buckingham have filed bills that would permit the purchase of up to two cases of beer a day from any brewery in the state. Buckingham points out that customers can already buy wine from wineries and spirits from distilleries.
The Beer Alliance of Texas and the Texas Craft Brewers Guild both support the legislation.
