(Weatherford, TX) – The Texas Legislature took time this week to honor one of the oldest colleges in the State.
State Rep. Phil King of Weatherford and State Sen. Pat Fallon from Prosper introduced a resolution to recognizing Weatherford College’s 150th anniversary. The House resolution stated, in part, “be it resolved, that … the 86th Legislature hereby commemorates the sesquicentennial of Weatherford College and extends to the members of the college community sincere best wishes for continued success.”
WC was established in 1869 and currently serves Parker, Palo Pinto, Hood, Jack and Wise counties. Over the years, WC has been affectionately known as “Harvard on the Hill”
