Health Department Confirms Dozens Of Mumps Cases In State Detention Centers

(Austin, TX) — Health officials in Texas say there are dozens of confirmed cases of immigrants with the mumps in state detention centers.

A Texas Tribune report Friday says health department data shows that as of February 21st, there were 178 diagnosed cases in centers across the state. In addition, the report says five detention center employees have also come down with the contagious ailment.
