(Cleburne, TX) – Cleburne Police have issued a warning after they say a student was approached by a stranger while walking home from school.

It happened around 4:30 Wednesday afternoon near Cooke Elementary School.  Police say a man in a green four-door car approached the student and offered to give the child a ride home.  They say the student became scared and ran off.  The man is described as Hispanic, unshaven with dark hair.  Cleburne ISD issued a statement saying, “We are joining with the Cleburne Police Department in asking residents to notify police if they see any unusual behavior in their neighborhood or have any information relating to this incident”.

Both Police and school district officials are urging parents to talk with their kids and asking students to stay alert and walk in groups.
