(Austin, TX) — Daylight Saving Time starts this weekend, but spring-forward could become a thing of the past in Texas if a certain bill becomes law.
State Senator Paul Bettencourt, a Houston Republican, has filed a joint resolution to allow Texans to vote on eliminating Daylight Saving Time. The resolution would require a vote on the matter in the general election this November. If the voters decide to ditch Daylight Saving Time, the change would take effect next year.
Just a reminder…Daylight Saving Time takes place this Sunday, March 10th, set your clocks forward one hour.
