Former Abilene Church Daycare Worker Guilty Of Child Sex Crimes

(Abilene, TX) — A former church daycare worker in Abilene will spend two decades in federal prison.

Benjamin Roberts was sentenced to 20 years behind bars for child sex crimes after pleading guilty earlier this month. Roberts was working at Wylie Baptist Child Development Center in Abilene when police began investigating him in 2018. The daycare was shut down by the state on Friday after police say Roberts was involved in up to 21 cases of sexual abuse there.
